A penthouse is my favorite type of venue because it is so versatile. A great penthouse will have fabulous views and a terrace too. If the weather is great, you can have say your “I Do’s” outside. If the weather is bad, step inside and stay warm with your sweetie.
Rooftop
Rooftops are quintessential New York. And while a New York pop-up wedding on a rooftop is bound to be gorgeous, the biggest drawback is how susceptible to weather it is. If you are planning a winter elopement, you have to be a serious risk-taker to book a rooftop venue. If you are planning a summer pop-up wedding, let’s just hope the heat and humidity have mercy on you that day. But there is a sweet spot when the weather is great and during that time, the rooftop is the way to go.
Parks
Eloping in Central Park or another park is nothing new, and that is in fact the con. It is overdone. However, the positive is that it is overdone because it is absolutely gorgeous and very “New York.” Keep in mind that crowds are sure to be a part of your special day if you go this route.
Private Garden
If you are looking for an outdoor venue and you don’t want the crowds at Central Park, then a private garden is the way to go. They normally close at sunset though so if a nighttime ceremony is what you are after, you would want to look elsewhere.
