Pop The Knot started when Michele Velazquez, owner of the world-renowned Marriage Proposal Planning company The Heart Bandits, began to receive a lot of inquiries for pop-up weddings and New York City elopements. The brides didn’t want a boring City Hall wedding, they were asking for unique venues like rooftops, art galleries, private gardens, etc. Of course, since they weren’t planning a full wedding, they didn’t have a huge budget.
