Covid-19 has changed all of our lives in so many ways.  Brides email me daily to tell me that their dream wedding was cancelled due to the virus but they are determined to still get married to the love of their life.  And even though these emails break my heart, I couldn’t be happier to know that I can at least help them to still get married while following the guidelines to keep everyone safe.  So, Is A Microwedding Right For You?

So What Is A Microwedding?

A microwedding, or minimony as some cool kids are calling it, is typically:

  • 25 or less guests (may need to be less during social distancing regulations)
  • only close friends and family
  • include an officiant, photographer, and bouquet and boutonnière
  • can include videographer and musician

Before Covid-19, microweddings were already popular for couples that wanted to save money and have a wedding that is truly just about them.  But they have become even more popular due to the small guest count and affordability during these uncertain times.

Sometimes, the microwedding is followed by a traditional wedding (otherwise known as a sequel wedding).  And sometimes the couples just decide to do away with the tradition and have a super intimate microwedding instead.

Now if you always have known that a microwedding or pop-up wedding was what you wanted, then that is great. But for those of you that find yourself on my blog, feeling sad and deflated that your dream wedding isn’t going to happen, let me try to share some great things about a microwedding that you may not already know.

Benefits Of A Microwedding

  • You can still have a wedding party
  • You still get to wear your stunning wedding dress
  • You can still do a first look
  • You can still walk down the aisle
  • You can still share a first dance
  • You can still exchange your own vows
  • It will still be a legal marriage
  • You will save a TON of money

and most importantly, you are STILL marrying the love of your life.  And after all, that is the most important part, right?  I also feel like getting married in the middle of a crisis will hold even more meaning.  Even in the midst of life giving you a truckload of lemons, you and your soon-to-be spouse managed to make lemonade!  There is something to be said for that right?

Where Do You Offer Microweddings?

At this point you are probably thinking, ok, this sounds great.  What cities are you operational in?  We currently have several venues to choose from in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, New York City, with more to come.  But we also offer our True Pop-Up Package in any city!  With the True Pop-Up, you can choose any venue (it could be a venue you hired or even be outdoors in a public area), and we will provide the officiant, photographer, bouquet and boutonnière and any other upgrades you choose.

How Do Microweddings Work?

Wondering how it works?  First you book the package that you love online!  We then reach out to your selected venue to confirm your booking and will let you know immediately once the contract is signed and it is booked.  The next step after you receive venue confirmation is to choose your photographer and officiant from our highly rated vendor list. Once those are selected, you can choose your bouquet/bout from our menu, or send pictures of one you love..  After all vendors are selected and closer to your pop-up wedding date, we send you a list of questions going over the logistics such as where do you want your family to stand, if you want to walk down the aisle or arrive with your groom, etc.  Then we send out a master timeline and itinerary which will go over the whole day!

You may also be wondering, what happens if I book and then the regulations get stricter again?  We are committed to helping you get through this situation  If this were to happen, we would work with you to help you get rescheduled.

So if you are ready to get started, the next step is easy.  Simply go to www.poptheknot.com and hover over the word “Packages.”  Find your city and click on it.  Select the package you love and then book it.  Easy peasy!

Once we receive your booking, we will be in touch with you to get started.  I know this may not be the way you thought things would be.  We have all had to learn to adjust our expectations during this difficult time.  But we will get through this together, we will get you married, and we will make sure you still have an amazing day.  I look forward to working with you on your special day and am honored to be a part of it.  Contact us today!!
